Richard Arellano is an expert instructor for Safety Research Consultants, Inc., (SRC) who started his career in law enforcement in 1975. He worked as a patrol agent with the U.S. Border Patrol, a special agent with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and a criminal investigator with Los Angeles County, where he developed and presented a defensive driving program for the county’s criminal investigators.

“Safety training helps protect drivers, fellow employees, and the general public,” Arellano said. “I expect the SRC training to inspire commercial drivers to realize and live with a safety culture, and thereby influence casual drivers by their example.”

He tells his own family: “Concentrate on the driving aspects of controlling the vehicle and eliminate all distractions.”

Arellano holds a juris doctorate and a bachelor’s degree in law.
