Barry Morris is an expert instructor for Safety Research Consultants, Inc., (SRC) who started his career in law enforcement in 1988. He worked as a patrol trooper and a narcotics and criminal investigations sergeant with the Texas Department of Public Safety, and as a deputy in courthouse security in Rockwall County, Texas. He currently works as a Rockwall County District Attorney’s Office investigator.

Throughout his career, he is most proud of “going home at the end of each and every shift.”

“Everyone is on the roadways, whether they are drivers, passengers, cyclists, pedestrians, so sharing and using the roadways safely is a win-win for all of us,” Morris said.

He tells his own family: “Always wear a seatbelt, and drive ahead—aim high in steering, keep your eyes moving, and get the big picture.”

Morris holds a bachelor’s degree and a Texas Master Peace Officer Certification, along with various work-related certifications accrued over a 30 year law enforcement career.
